To help make your stay easier, we have labeled all the switches in the house. We have also put together demonstration videos for using the common appliances and amenities in the house. A brief viewing of these videos should make finding things and using things much easier. This means less time figuring things out and more time enjoying your vacation!
Kitchen: The links below shows a full tour of the kitchen demonstrating where all the appliances are kept and provides a full inventory of what to expect when you arrive.
Coffee Maker: The house has a grind and brew coffee maker. You can use either whole beans or ground coffee. We love this coffee maker because you can set the timer at night and have fresh ground coffee ready when you wake up. The link below is a video demonstrating how to use to coffee maker.
Television: In addition to high-speed internet, the house has Xfinity television services including local channels and limited free television shows and movies. Each TV is a smart TV and can hook up to your own Amazon Video or Netflix account. Make sure you log out of your accounts before you leave. Garage Amenities: We have supplied a garage full of outdoor amenities provided in the garage including kayaks, fishing gear, beach supplies, bikes, and pool toys. There are 2 locks for the bikes. The codes are 6112 (smaller lock) and 5255 (larger lock). We recently added bean bag boards as well. The below link gives a tour of everything available for your use.
Dock: The dock is fully available for your use. Enjoy the sunset or kayaking and fishing from the dock. If you have brought or rented a boat, feel free to dock during your stay. It is a short ride out to the harbor. There is a hose near the pool heater for your use. We recommend the maximum boat length to be 26 feet. Any boat trailers cannot be kept in the driveway by local ordinance. We don’t recommend canal swimming.
Fishing: All the fishing gear in the garage is available for your use. Make sure, you get a Florida fishing license online. We are not experts, but we have put together a video for suggestions on fishing in the canal from the dock. Make sure to stay on our property. Also, fishing lines break and if you lose a bunch of tackle, please consider being friendly and buying a few things from the bait shop when buying your fresh shrimp. Amenities to enjoy both around the house and around the area.
As our family’s vacation home, we truly hope you find the amenities and accommodations above that of your standard rental property. Of course, we provide the standard amenities with fresh, clean linens and bathroom supplies. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies you need for either quick or gourmet meals. You just need to supply the cooking talent and the food. Beyond the average, we have provided many things that our family enjoys for you to enjoy as well. Please take a drive to one of the many area beaches and enjoy the beach toys, beach blanket, chairs, umbrella, and cooler. The bikes are free for use (helmets and locks included). For those wanting exercise on the water, please enjoy the kayaks with life jackets. Our family favorite is fishing and catching plenty of snook right off the dock. The fishing poles and tackle are available for your use as well. Our newest addition is bean bag boards (or corn hole depending on your regional dialect) to enjoy in the oversized yard or the beach.
Beach Supplies
Punta Gorda is a short drive from the beaches of Manasota Key, our favorites. There are usually no big crowds. Your will find plenty of white sands, gentle waves, colorful shells, and fossilized shark teeth.
Bikes
Punta Gorda is considered a bicycle friendly community. May of our favorite activities are only a short bike ride from the house. Punta Gorda also provides excellent bike riding trails for exercise and enjoyment.
